Bengaluru: A brilliant unbeaten double hundred by Sanju Samson and his 338-run stand with Sachin Baby powered Kerala to a 104-run win over against Goa in their Vijay Hazare Trophy one-day match here on Saturday.

Sanju (212 not out) and Sachin Baby (127) helped Kerala to a mammoth total of 377/3 in 50 overs. Goa could only manage 273/8 in reply.

This was Kerala's third win from six games. They next meet holders Mumbai on Monday.

Sanju's 129-ball knock was studded with 21 fours and 10 sixes.

The 24-year-old broke the world record for the highest score by a wicketkeeper-batsman in List A cricket. He surpassed 209 not out by Abid Ali for Islamabad against Peshawar last year.

The right-hander also became the highest individual run-getter in domestic List A games in India. He bettered Uttarakhand's Karn Veer Kasuhal's 202 against Sikkim last season. It was also the highest individual score in the Hazare Trophy.

Sachin made 127 off 135 deliveries. The left-hander's knock contained seven fours and four sixes.

Kerala were struggling at 31/2 in the eighth over after electing to bat before Sanju and Sachin joined hands.

Captain Robin Uthappa (10) was given out for obstructing the field, while his opening partner Vishnu Vinod fell for seven.

Thereafter it was the Sanju-Sachin show.

Sanju brought up his maiden one-day hundred off 66 balls and the second ton came off 59 balls.

List A cricket includes One-Day International (ODI) matches and various domestic competitions in which the number of overs in an innings per team ranges from 40 to 60, as well as some international matches involving nations who have not achieved ODI status.

Brief scores: Kerala 377/3 in 50 overs (Sanju Samson 212 not out, Sachin Baby 127) bt Goa 273/8 in 50 overs (Aditya Kaushik 58, Tunish Sawkar 56; Sandeep Warrier 2/44).

Points: Kerala 4; Goa 0.
