Biju Narayanan smashed consecutive sixes off the last over to deliver a thrilling 1-wicket win over defending champions Kollam Sailors against Calicut Globstars in the opening match of Kerala Cricket League (KCL) season 2 at the Greenfield Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday.
Chasing a modest target of 139, Sachin Baby's sailors went into the final over needing 14 with tailenders Eden Apple Tom and Biju Narayanan on strike.
Akhil Dev kept it tight in the first three balls, giving away just one run. Eden, the better batter of the two, reluctantly took a single, but Narayanan proved to be quite an efficient finisher. He smashed consecutive sixes straight down the ground to script a memorable result in the opener of the T20 event.
