Bangladesh defeated Sri Lanka by four wickets in a thrilling Asia Cup Super Fours clash in Dubai on Saturday.

Half-centuries from opener Saif Hassan and Towhid Hridoy helped Bangladesh chase down a fighting total of 168/7 with just one ball remaining.

Dasun Shanaka's powerful 64 (37 balls) had powered the Lankans earlier, but Hassan (61 off 45) and Hridoy (58 off 37) shone for Bangla after Nuwan Thushara struck in the first over.

Captain Litton Das helped steady a 59-run partnership for the second wicket. The fall of Hridoy with the total at 159, made the end a tense affair.

Earlier, Bangladesh bowlers were consistent, with Mustafizur Rahman bagging 3/20 and Mahedi Hasan claiming 2/25.

India and Pakistan will play the much-awaited Super Fours clash in Dubai on Sunday. It will be interesting to see if the management sticks to the idea of playing Sanju Samson as a top-order batter like against Oman. Sanju had scored a fifty in the league encounter.
