Sanju Samson to CSK, Jadeja to Rajasthan in high-profile IPL swap: Reports

Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and inaugural winners Rajasthan Royals (RR) are reportedly in advanced talks over a major trade deal ahead of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), involving Ravindra Jadeja and Sanju Samson.
Both players are valued at ₹18 crore each, and the deal is said to be close to completion. However, reports suggest that RR are not keen on a direct swap and have demanded the inclusion of an additional player — a sticking point that could delay the final agreement, according to Cricbuzz.
The Royals are reportedly asking for South African youngster Dewald Brevis to be part of the exchange along with Jadeja.
Brevis joined CSK midway through last season as an injury replacement for Gurjapneet Singh, quickly emerging as one of the most promising batters in global franchise cricket. He also drew a record bid from Pretoria Capitals in the SA20 auction in September, with Jo’burg Super Kings (a CSK affiliate) withdrawing shortly before the final bid.
CSK, however, are said to be firmly opposed to including any additional player in the deal, particularly Brevis. The franchise maintains that Jadeja himself is a premium asset and has reportedly consulted the veteran all-rounder before opening trade discussions.
Jadeja has been a cornerstone of CSK’s success, known for his tight left-arm spin and match-winning cameos with the bat. His heroics in the IPL 2023 final, where he sealed victory with 10 runs off the last two balls, remain one of the most iconic moments in CSK history.
