Chennai Super Kings roped in acclaimed Malayalam movie director Basil Joseph in Sanju Samson's presentation video released Tuesday evening.

Basil, who was recently seen in a few promotional videos of Super League Kerala, appeared in a similar avatar to launch his good friend Sanju in CSK's famous yellow jersey.

Sanju recently switched from the Rajasthan Royals to MS Dhoni's CSK, making it one of the most high-profile trades in IPL. Sanju spent 11 storied seasons with the Royals across two spells, captaining them for five seasons in a row.

CSK have done a series of social media promotions since confirming Sanju's trade on November 15. The latest 2-minute video, featuring cinematic cuts, shows Sanju getting ready to pull on the yellow jersey. At the same time, Basil drives a parallel storyline focused on erecting a hoarding for the star player.

"From now on, our boy is yellow. And we follow his lead," Basil says with a smile at the end of the video, when both Sanju and his mighty hoarding are revealed, flaunting CSK's yellow.

The choice of Minnal Murali director Basil, the use of Malayalam, and the setting, which seems like somewhere in Kerala, is a smart move by CSK to win over a sizeable Royals' support in Kerala.
