Dube stands tall against the Dutch as India post 193/6; no Sanju even in a dead rubber

Shivam Dube hit a powerful half-century after the Netherlands removed India's openers in the powerplay in an inconsequential T20 World Cup group stage match in Ahmedabad on Wednesday.
India posted 193/6 in 20 overs, with Dube scoring 66 off 31. Hardik Pandya fell in the last ball after making 30 off 20. The duo held a 76-run stand for the fifth wicket, hitting nine sixes.
Earlier, lanky off-spinner Aryan Dutt struck twice, first removing Abhishek Sharma for a duck (hat-trick of ducks in the event) and then Ishan Kishan (18), both bowled, inside the powerplay.
India rebuilt, through Tilak Varma and skipper Suryakumar Yadav, who won the toss, with a 30-run stand. But Varma was removed by Logan van Beek and the captain fell shortly after 100 was reached.
Sharma's retention meant that there was no place for struggling star Sanju Samson. India have included Washington Sundar, replacing Axar Patel, while Kuldeep Yadav has made way for Arshdeep Singh.
India are aiming for a perfect record in the group stages, while the Dutch are seeking their second win in the event after defeating Namibia earlier. Even with a win, their exit is sealed as Pakistan booked the second place in Group A following a 102-run win over Namibia in Colombo earlier in the day.
Brief scores: India 193/6 in 20 overs (Shivam Dube 66, Suryakumar Yaav 34, Tilak Varma 31, Hardik Pandya 30, Logan van Beek 3/56, Aryan Dutt 2/19) vs Netherlands
