Sanju Samson to headline KCL-3 team launch

The official team launch of the third season of the Kerala Cricket League will be held at Hotel Leela Raviz in Kovalam on Monday. Indian wicketkeeper-batter and tournament icon Sanju Samson and Tourism and Culture Minister P C Vishnunath will be the chief guests.
The teams competing in the third season of the KCL will be officially unveiled at the event. The team captains, coaches and other support staff will also be introduced.
The six teams taking part are Trivandrum Royals, Aries Kollam Sailors, Alleppey Ripples, Kochi Blue Tigers, Thrissur Titans and Calicut Globstars.
The third season of the KCL will begin at the Greenfield Stadium in Kariavattom on August 20. The tournament will run for 17 days, with the final scheduled for September 5.
Calicut Globstars and Thrissur Titans will play the opening match at 2.30pm on August 20. Defending champions Kochi Blue Tigers will face Aries Kollam Sailors in the second match at 7.30pm.
The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) said one of the KCL's major achievements has been providing emerging players with a platform to showcase their talent and increase their value.
The KCA is also aiming to build a comprehensive cricket ecosystem in Kerala through the league. As part of the initiative, it is planning various programmes, including inter-school cricket tournaments, to identify young talent for the KCL.
