Proud to hear them talk about Kerala cricketers during IPL camp: Sanju Samson hails KCL's impact

India's T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament Sanju Samson on Monday said that the Kerala Cricket League has played a significant role in helping young cricketers from Kerala gain national attention.
He was speaking during the official team launch of the third season of KCL at The Leela Raviz in Kovalam. Sanju and Tourism and Culture Minister P C Vishnunath were among the special guests at the event.
"Whenever I attend IPL training camps, I feel extremely happy and proud when I hear coaches and other players discussing cricketers from Kerala," Sanju said while speaking about the impact of KCL on Kerala cricketers.
The six teams — Kochi Blue Tigers, Aries Kollam Sailors, Thrissur Titans, Calicut Globstars, Trivandrum Royals and Alleppey Ripples — were officially introduced at the ceremony. Their captains, coaches and owners were given a rousing reception as they took the stage.
The teams made their entries accompanied by cultural performances showcasing the distinct identity of their respective districts. A special video tracing 75 years of Kerala cricket and highlighting memorable performances by players was also screened during the event.
Sponsors and partners of the tournament were felicitated at the ceremony. The launch also featured a virtual reality experience zone for guests. A special mentalism show by mentalist Nipin Niravath added to the entertainment, while a photo booth and trophy zone were also arranged for the attendees.
The third season of the KCL will begin on August 20 at the Greenfield International Stadium in Kariavattom. The 17-day tournament will conclude with the final on September 5.
