Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo left a whopping $31,500 (over Rs 21.7 lakh) tip for hotel staff at a luxury Greek resort, according to a report in a British tabloid.

The 33-year-old left Real Madrid for Italian giants Juventus earlier this month. Ronaldo will be paid $880,000-a-week in Turin following his $175 million transfer.

Ronaldo enjoyed a break with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and those closest to him at the Costa Navarino resort in Greece following the European champions' elimination from the World Cup in the round of 16.

It is believed that he was that impressed with the staff’s service and left them a huge cheque as a tip and asked the hotel management to split the figure equally among all the workers.

Ronaldo met with Juventus chairman Andrea Agnelli at the resort as he finalised the deal to join the Serie A giants.
