Kerala squad for Santosh Trophy final round announced

Kochi: The Kerala Football Association announced the state team for the final round of the Santosh Trophy National Football Championship here on Saturday.

Goalkeeper Midhun V will lead the 22-member squad.

Defender Sanju G and midfielder Arjun V have replaced Jeritto J and Ajeesh P from the squad which took part in the qualifiers.

Defending champions Kerala topped the qualifiers held in Kozhikode last month winning all five matches. 

Kerala are placed in Group A along with Goa, Karnataka, hosts Odisha, Maharashtra and Punjab in the final round.

Group B consists of Delhi, Meghalaya, Railways, Services, West Bengal and Manipur.

The top two from each group will advance to the semifinals. 

The knockout stage will be held in Saudi Arabia.
