Kerala qualified for the Santosh Trophy National Football Championship final round as the group stage competition ended on Tuesday.

The seven-time champions, who finished second behind hosts Goa in Group A, qualified as one of the three best second-placed sides.

Goa, Delhi, Manipur, Assam, Services and Maharashtra made it to the final round as group toppers, while Mizoram, Kerala and Railways qualified as best second-placed sides.

Defending champions Karnataka, runners-up Meghalaya and hosts Arunachal Pradesh will join the nine qualifiers in the final stage to be held in Itanagar.

The 12 teams will be divided into two groups of six teams each. The top two will advance to the semifinals.

Kerala failed to qualify for the semifinals last season.
