Santosh Trophy: Meghalaya hold Kerala

Yupia (Arunachal Pradesh): Kerala were held to a 1-1 draw by Meghalaya in a Group B match of the Santosh Trophy National Football Championship here on Sunday.

Naresh B drew first blood for Kerala in the fourth minute and the seven-time champions went to the half-time break one up. Meghalaya equalised in the 78th minute through a penalty by Sheen Sohktung to salvage a point.

Goa beat Services 2-1 in the early kick-off to move up to the top of the table with seven points from three matches.

Kerala, who beat Assam 3-1 in their opening match before going down 0-2 to Goa, have four points from three games. Services have six points from thee outings.

The top four will progress to the  quarterfinals.

Kerala next meet hosts Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday (2.30 pm).
