Kerala Blasters have suffered a big blow as star striker Noah Sadaoui has sustained an injury that will keep him out of action for at least two weeks. The Indian Super League (ISL) club said that the Moroccan sustained 'a minor injury in training' and was undergoing rehabilitation.

The setback comes just three days before the Blasters host league leaders Mohun Bagan Super Giant in Kochi. Sadaoui has made 12 goal contributions this season, including seven goals and five assists.

Sadaoui was expected to return to the starting XI after being named on the bench in a thrilling 3-1 win against Chennaiyin FC in Chennai on January 30.

Sadaoui is likely to miss the Blasters February 22 fixture against his former side FC Goa in Goa. He could return to action when the Blasters host Jamshedpur FC in Kochi on March 1.

The Blasters are eighth in the points table with 24 points from 19 rounds. To reach the playoffs, they must finish at least sixth, a position now occupied by NorthEast United, who had 29 points from 20 matches. The Blasters must collect as many points as possible in their remaining five matches to reach the playoffs.

The Blasters are managed by interim head coach T G Purushothaman and assistant coach Tomasz Tchorz since the sacking of Head Coach Mikael Stahre in mid-December.
