Liverpool finally lifted a thoroughly deserved Premier League trophy, while Chelsea and Newcastle United sealed Champions League spots on Sunday's dramatic final matchday.

Golden Boot winner Mohamed Salah scored an 84th-minute equaliser against Crystal Palace as Liverpool ended their season with a 1-1 draw at Anfield. But dropping points didn't matter because Arne Slot's Reds had sealed the title with four games to spare, and they finished 10 points clear of second-placed Arsenal, who defeated Southampton 2-1.

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City ended up third on 71 points after a 2-0 win over Fulham. Midfielder Kevin De Bruyne celebrated full-time with City fans as he confirmed his exit after a trophy-laden decade in the blue corner of Manchester.

Meanwhile, three grounds witnessed fierce battles for the two remaining Champions League spots. Nottingham Forest and Chelsea faced off in a feisty clash for direct qualification at the former's ground. Enzo Maresca's Blues came out on top with a 1-0 win. The defeat left Forest seventh in the table, in the Conference League position.

Newcastle lost 0-1 to Everton, but got lucky with Aston Villa going down 0-2 to Manchester United. While both Newcastle and Villa finished level on 66 points, the former grabbed the final Champions League spot with a better goal difference, while the Clarets and Blue had to settle with the Europa League.

Back in Liverpool, as captain Virgil van Dijk lifted the trophy, there were cheers and tears. As You'll Never Walk Alone reverberated across Anfield, Trent Alexander-Arnold, the right-back whose 20-year Liverpool journey has come to an end, turned emotional. He is reportedly heading to Real Madrid.
