The semifinals of Super League Kerala (SLK) scheduled on December 7 and 10 have been postponed due to security concerns in the wake of the upcoming local body polls in the state.

SLK management said in a statement that the decision was made as per "instructions received from the authorities in connection with the election process". SLK said the "revised dates will be shared at the earliest after further consultation with the authorities concerned".

"As a responsible organisation, SLK is committed to fully complying with the directions issued by the District Administration. In view of the election-related protocols and the operational restrictions communicated to us, conducting the matches on the originally scheduled dates is not feasible," the SLK statement read.

The first semifinal between Malappuram FC and Thrissur Magic was set to kick-off at 7.30 pm today at the Corporation Stadium in Thrissur. In the second semifinal, holders Calicut FC were set to clash with Kannur Warriors at the EMS Corporation Stadium in Kozhikode.
