Jakarta: The Koreas, fielding a unified team for the first time in the Asian Games, outplayed hosts Indonesia 108-40 in a historic women's basketball Group A game here on Wednesday.
Korea led from the start and raced away to a 25-8 lead in the first quarter. There was no change in the script in the match played in front of a boisterous crowd.
Korea led 58-20 at the half-time.
India, Chinese Taipei and Kazakhstan are the other teams in Group A.
The Koreas are appearing together in six disciplines across three sports (basketball, canoeing and rowing) at the Games.
The Koreas had fielded a unified ice hockey team at the Winter Olympics held in Seoul earlier this year. They had also formed a joint team at this year's World Table Tennis Championships in Sweden.
