Kerala Budget: Rs 135.75 cr earmarked for Sports & Youth Affairs

An amount of Rs 135.75 crore has been earmarked for various schemes of Sports & Youth Affairs Department in the Kerala Budget for 2023-24, presented by Finance Minister K N Balagopal in the Assembly on Friday.

An amount of Rs 20 crore has been provided for upgradation and capacity development of G V Raja Sports School, Thiruvananthapuram, and Sports Division, Kannur.

Balagopal said that an amount of Rs 3.6 crore has been earmarked for setting up infrastructure facilities like hostel and mess in the Sports Division established at Kunnamkulam Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Thrissur.

An outlay of Rs 35.9 crore has been provided for various activities of the Kerala State Sports Council.

An amount of Rs 18.95 crore has been allocated for the activities of Kerala State Youth Welfare Board.

A total outlay of Rs 130.75 crore was earmarked for sports and games in the previous budget.
