India bag six gold medals on final day of Taiwan Open athletics

India won six gold medals on Sunday, the final day of the Taiwan Open athletics championships in Taipei City. Vithya Ramraj, Rohit Yadav, Pooja, Krishan Kumar and Annu Rani secured individual gold medals, while the men's 4x400 m relay team also claimed top spot.
Santosh T, Vishal T K, Dharamveer Chaudhary and Manu TS clinched gold in the relay event with a championship record of 3:05.58.
Vithya took gold in the women's 400m hurdles, clocking 56.53s, while 800m runners Pooja (2:02.79) and Krishan (1:48.46) broke the championship records to take gold.
Olympic medalist Neeraj Chopra was not part of the event, but India secured gold medals in both men's and women's javelin throw. Rohit's 74.42m effort fetched him the gold, and Annu got her first place with a best attempt of 56.82m.
India's women's long jumpers, Shaili Singh and Ancy Sojan, have yet to hit top gear this season, settling for silver and bronze, respectively.
Shaili jumped 6.41m in her final attempt to finish behind Australia's Delta Amidzovski (6.49), while Ancy Sojan (6.39m) bagged the bronze medal.
In late May, Ancy and Shaili secured silver and bronze respectively in the Asian Athletics Championships in Gumi. Ancy jumped 6.33, while Shaili cleared 6.30 in the South Korean city.
