Providence HS, Kozhikode, and St Joseph's HSS, Thiruvananthapuram, clinched the girls' and boys' titles respectively of the Girideepam inter-school basketball tournament in Kottayam on Monday.

In the girls' final, Providence defeated Little Flower Convent HS, Koratty, 53-32, with Arthika K top-scoring with 23 points. St Joseph's defeated hosts Girideepam, 67-57, to lift the boys' title. Yuvesh A hit a game-high 31 points for St Joseph's.

Yuvesh and Arthika were adjudged the Best Players of the tournament, while the Promising Player awards were secured by Hari Reji of Girideepam and Adhina Marium Johnson of Little Flower.

The hosts, Girideepam, won a volleyball tournament held on the sidelines, defeating St Peter's Kolencherry, 25-23, 25-15, 21-25, 25-22.
