Former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar, convicted for involvement in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots and serving life sentences, has died aged 84 at Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi.
The court on February 12 convicted Kumar for the offence.
A bench made up of Justices Abhay S Oka and Augustine George Masih requested Additional Solicitor General Aishwarya Bhati to submit an affidavit.
The court will continue with the hearing on November 29.
Several BJP leaders claimed that the Congress MP was bringing the country down on foreign soil with his "agenda-setting" statements.
