The worth of Chauhan to Indian cricket can never measured in terms of mere runs or statistics.
The news emerged late on Saturday night from the tweets of former Indian players Aakash Chopra and R P Singh who wished him a speedy recovery.
Chauhan, who breathed his last on Sunday after battling COVID-19, was a very secure man and probably someone whose biggest strength was knowing about limitations, something that he believed helped him as an administrator and politician later in life.
Chauhan, who was Sunil Gavaskar's longest serving opening partner, was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi PGI in Lucknow on July 12 after being found COVID-19 positive.
