The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief has been holding discussions with Muslim intellectuals as part of strengthening communal harmony.
Governor Khan was least apologetic about his decision to go and visit the RSS chief. Khan said his association with the RSS went a long way back.
The Governor's office said Khan had a brief meeting with Bhagwat around 8 PM on Saturday.
Mohan Bhagwat said the RSS had already made it clear that its participation in Ayodhya agitation was an exception and it would not undertake anything similar in future.
He said saints and astrologers have predicted that India would become 'Akhand Bharat' in 20-25 years, but the nation can achieve the target within 10-15 years if everyone works collectively
The word Hindu was equivalent to motherland, ancestors and Indian culture. This is not disrespecting other views, he said.
Bhagwat said in another 20 years, one can foresee India as Gandhi saw. He also stressed on Gandhi's honesty, vision and truth.
Talking about the Ram temple, Bhagwat said that the role of the RSS on the issue was only for the temple was formed. "We will disassociate ourselves from the temple construction once the trust is formed.
He said entire society is ours and Sangh aims to build such a united society.
