Pooja won gold for India in Asia Athletics high jump 23 years after Bobby Aloysius.
The forty-four-year-old, who moved into coaching after announcing her retirement, said she was overwhelmed by the belated recognition of Dhyan Chand Award.
It has been alleged that Bobby misused the central and state governments' funds given to her as part of her foreign training programme in 2003.
