While many celebrities flew to foreign countries to celebrate Christmas and New Year, Sonal Chauhan, who was the first Indian to clinch the Miss World Tourism title, chose to ring in the New Year in Goa. In one of the sizzling pictures shared on social media, Sonal is simply ravishing in a pink and white Halter neck bikini on the beach. The caption to this photograph, ‘Come away with me if you’re not scared of depths’, is equally catchy.
Sonal, who has a busy acting schedule in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi filmdom, is also a singer and model. She was crowned ‘Miss World Tourism’ at Miri in Malaysia in 2005 and stepped into Bollywood with her debut Hindi film ‘Jannat’ opposite Emraan Hashmi in 2008. Sonal also dazzled as the cover girl of FHM (For Him Magazine), a British multinational men’s lifestyle magazine.
Scores of travellers descended on Goa to celebrate Christmas and New Year amidst the COVID-19 times. The celebrities who chose Goa as their destination to ring in the New Year include Vijay Devarakonda, Malaika Arora-Arjun Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty and Neha Kakkar-Rohanpreet Singh.
Though domestic tourists flocked to the pristine beaches in Goa, there were only few foreign tourists as the international flights remain suspended due to the pandemic. The famous beaches in north Goa such as Calangute, Baga and Candolim were teeming with backpackers.
The New Year revelries in Goa included beach parties, celebrations in night clubs and various entertainment programmes.
