Pamapady: Award-winning writer Kottayam Baburaj who has travelled across Kerala on a scooter to write 'Sthala Vijnana Kosam' or an encyclopedia of various places in Kerala has some amazing fun facts to share about nomenclature of Kerala.

He found out that there are many other 'Keralams' within Kerala. Keralapara in the Kottayam district is near the Angel Valley in the Erumely panchayat.

There are places named Keralapuram in three districts. You could visit Keralapuram at Koduvayur in Palakkad, Kottangal panchayat in Pathanamthitta and also in Kottamkara - Perinad panchayats in the Kollam district. Meanwhile, Kerlaparambu is in the Alathur panchayat in Palakkad. There are two places called Keralam in Malappuram district. One of these places is known as Vazhikkadavu Keralam. The other Keralam is near Kalikavu.

The place name Maradu has recently earned notoriety for the controversial flats. However, a place in Maradu is called Keraleeyam which echoes the mesmerizing spirit of the state.

Interestingly, there are two Keraladityapuram in the Thiruvananthapuram and Alappuzha districts, reiterating the panache of the name. One is at Sreekaryam and the other is in the Vayalar panchayat in Alappuzha. There is also a Keraladeesapuram in Thanur in the Malappuram district.
