Shankhumugham to have Kerala's first tourism department-owned destination wedding centre

Tourist spots of Kerala have been favourites among wedding planners for long to hold destination weddings and now, the state tourism department has decided to bank on the trend in a novel manner. Shankhumugham, one of the most popular beach areas in Thiruvananthapuram, will have Kerala's first tourism department-owned destination wedding centre, soon. As per reports, it will be near the park adjacent to the beach and the first wedding here will be held on November 30. The project teams up with world-renowned event managers and it will be inaugurated by Tourism Minister P A Mohamed Riyas.

The centre will offer accommodation facilities, seafood, traditional Kerala dishes and a nightlife centre. It will be run by the District Tourism Promotion Corporation Society. As part of the project, the beach is also getting beautified, currently. There is also a plan to build an amusement park, AI game centre, food park, coffee and snacks centre, outdoor game zone, 3D Light show, fish spa and more, alongside. A food street is also part of the plan, as per reports. The street's timings would be 7 pm to 12 midnight.
