Kerala’s Alappuzha, known for scenic canals, backwaters, and houseboats, is no longer just about leisure tourism. The land of snake boat races is gearing up to lure adventure tourism lovers to explore its coastlines and water bodies through various thrilling activities. Adventure activities will soon be launched at the Alappuzha beach, first. Two-speed boats have been brought to the beach so visitors can enjoy a thrilling ride over the sea waves. Besides, smaller boats, rafts, beach cars, and scooters that run on the sand on the beach will be introduced in the coming days.
Meanwhile, the test runs of the boats have been completed. The Kerala Adventure Tourism Promotion Society will inspect the boats, vehicles and other facilities today (February 17). Society would be granting permission to run these adventure activities. After the inspection, boat rides would be open for the visitors.
Water bikes, luxury boats
Water bikes and boats would be launched at the Kainakary Vattakayal terminal. The authorities hope that the number of tourists arriving in Alappuzha will increase when these adventure rides and activities are rolled out. Meanwhile, the Pondoor luxury boat highlights backwater tourism in Vattakayal. This boat and many other boats have already arrived in Alappuzha. The DTPC had earlier launched paragliding on the beach, attracting tourists and providing good revenue. Although the floating bridge project, which allows tourists to walk over the sea, was approved and the construction materials were brought to the Alappuzha beach, it was later dropped after a controversy erupted.
