Thottada Beach, near Parappally in Kannur, is a quiet and clean getaway but has snack bars, gentle waves and a breeze to make your mornings and evenings poetic. The beach, blessed with clean waters, is breathtaking throughout the day. It also has a small cliff area and rocks on the coast, which are great spots for photography, an evening stroll, or just to sit and kill time. Many tourists also love the Thottada River Estuary, as the scenic spot is great for birdwatching.

It's a safe spot for swimming and sunbathing. You can also enjoy the serene atmosphere with your friends as you chat away, enjoying snacks from nearby local shops. Of late, many couples and shutterbugs have also been using the beach backdrop for photoshoots.

How to go
The Kannur Railway station is about 8 km away from Thottada Beach, and tourists can easily hire autorickshaws, cabs or even take buses to the spot. However, as it is a secluded spot, local people mostly recommend autorickshaws and taxis.
