Munnar temperature drops to 3 °C: Tourists, be mindful of these things

Munnar recorded its lowest temperature of 3 °C this season on Monday. It's expected to drop to zero in the upcoming days. That said, around noon, the temperature rises to 22 °C. Taking advantage of the climate, many tourists are planning a Munnar trip for Christmas vacation or going on impromptu drives to the hill station.
What should they be careful of before heading to the misty haven? Here are a few tips from the Munnar Tourist Guides Association.
1) If you plan to stay in Munnar, do not head to the hill station without booking your accommodation. As it's the holiday season, most resorts, hotels, and homestays don't have many rooms available.
2) Munnar does not have many parking spots. Tourists will have to park their vehicles along the roads. However, if not properly parked, it can also invite an immediate fine.
3) Many tourists tend to get a fever and a cold immediately in this climate. Keep first aid kits ready in their vehicles.
4) Roads can get misty at night, in specific stretches. For example, the Randam Mile-Munnar stretch, the Bodimettu area, and the Periyar-Muaar stretch can get foggy in the mornings too. Drive carefully.
5) Preferably, mount fog lights on your vehicle for better visibility in misty areas.
6) After 5 pm, generally, the temperature drops further and around 9 pm, it can get extremely cold. Those with health issues like wheezing better don't stay outdoors late evenings or nights.
7) Avoid consuming cold water and food items this season to guard your health.
