District collector in Kerala goes paragliding, scuba diving to create election awareness

A few years ago, when Anu Kumari, IAS, tried her hand at scuba diving, she confessed to being claustrophobic. However, it didn't stop her from taking up the adventure sport yet again this year, along with paragliding, for a noble cause: raising awareness about the upcoming Kerala Assembly Election. A few days ago, Anu Kumari attempted scuba diving in Kerala's Kovalam as part of the 'Dive Into Democracy: Every Vote Creates a Wave' initiative. "This time, our district should ensure a 100 per cent vote. Make a mark, be a spark," she said, during the campaign. 

The collector also attempted paragliding at another beautiful Kerala tourism destination, Varkala's Papanasam beach. The collector glided over the sea and the cliff for more than half an hour, enjoying the experience while raising awareness of the election. She said that paragliding was a mesmerising experience and advised everyone to try it at least once in their life. The collector and team have been adopting unique and interesting ways to create awareness about the election among the public. They aim to achieve the highest voting percentage in the district's history. She urged voters to recognise the power of their vote and to turn up at the polling booths on April 9 to exercise their voting rights.
