The Kerala Water Transport Department's new tourism initiative, 'The Kuttanad Safari,' will go on floors from April 10. The bookings began yesterday, and authorities say they received more than 100 on their first day. The cruise, which will be a solar-powered double-decker boat named Indra, can accommodate around 100 people. The initiative is in partnership with the Muhamma Grama Panchayat. Here's everything you need to know.

Itinerary
10 am - Boarding the boat
Around 10.20 am - Experiencing a Kerala tea shop at 'Punchiri'
Around 11 am - Experiencing backwater bunds, where tourists can walk, click pictures and more
Around 12.30 pm - Ethnic Kerala food from 'Kamalante Moola'
2 pm - Pathiramanal Island. Experience traditional Kerala art forms like theyyam, koodiyattam, villadichan pattu, yakshaganam and more
3 pm - Check out Kerala's age-old crafts of making balls, hats, mats and more with coconut tree leaves. Visitors can also try a hand at coir-making
5 pm - Back to the boat jetty

Timing
The one-day safari will be from 10 am to 5 pm, from Matha Boat Jetty near the Alappuzha KSRTC bus stand. 
Ticket fare
The safari charges ₹1,000 per person. Food is not included in this fee.
