Kerala's Wonderla amusement park chain, which also has a presence in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Bhubaneswar, is all set to launch in Chennai as well. The park, which will be inaugurated on December 2, has over 40 rides, including Tanjora, Freestyler and Spin Mill. Fifteen water rides and seven kids' rides will also be part of the park. The ₹611 crore park spans around 64 acres and is located in Illalur village along the Old Mahabalipuram Road. The park will accommodate around 6,500 visitors every day. Ticket booking has also begun.

Park timings and rates
The park will be open from 11 am to 6 pm weekdays. Water rides will be open from 12.30 pm to 5 pm. On weekends, it will be open till 7 pm. The park is open year-round. The regular ticket rate for opening day is ₹1016.05 and includes access to all rides. On other days, the customers can book tickets under 'regular,' 'offer' and 'fasttrack' tickets. The regular ticket costs ₹1216.86 for adults, ₹1009.32 for children and ₹946.40 for senior citizens. Senior citizens should carry their ID proof with them at all times. The offer tickets include the birthday offer, the student ID offer, and Defence Family tickets. The fast-track tickets, which let you skip the queue, are ₹2018.98 for adults and ₹1614.92 for children. There is also the option to get early-bird tickets 2 days in advance for a 10% discount.

Other facilities
The park also has eight themed dining venues with 1,384 seats with special Tamil dishes like Chettinad chicken, Dindigul biryani and Chennai-style seafood. International cuisine will also be available. Changing and locker rooms, paramedic stations, baby-care areas, first-aid facilities, accessible pathways and a 1500-seater conference hall are also part of Wonderla Chennai. Interestingly, it also has a 1,000kw solar installation and 1,000 indigenous trees, along with a 32,000 sq m of green cover.
