Since his childhood, Mohammad Rafi, a lorry driver from Kerala's Malappuram, was an ardent Vijay fan. When Vijay emerged victorious in the recent Assembly elections, Rafi decided it was time to meet the star in person.

He decided to make the trip to meet Vijay special by walking all the way from his native place, Tirur, Malappuram. However, when he opened up to his wife, Shahana CP, she had just one line to say: 'I will come with you.' Shahana, too, confesses to being a diehard fan of the actor-politician.

The couple, who are also vloggers, took the first steps of the 600-plus km journey on May 7. They have hung a placard on their necks with Vijay's photo, their travel intention, and the Instagram channel name 'Mallu Kicks Travel'.

As they travel to various places, they document their experiences on their Instagram page and even meet local Vijay fans. When they crossed Ottappalam, an influencer interviewed them, asking whether they were sure they could meet the star politician. The couple said that though they weren't sure, they wanted to try.

The couple say they haven't planned much about their logistics or accommodation, and are just finding spots to stay wherever they reach by the end of the day. At times, they stay at petrol pumps or shops. As it is the summer season, the heat and rough roads are also posing them a big challenge.

In a video, Shanana says, "Yes, our legs have cracked quite a bit, and we have just begun the journey. But we will keep going."

Why do they wish to meet Vijay? When asked about it in a video, Rafi says, "Well, I just wish to meet him. And if possible, give him a hug!"

According to reports, they had attempted a trip to Kashmir on foot last year but abandoned the effort midway due to adverse weather conditions.
