As the name suggests this is a waterfall in three steps. Location and features

Located in the Kattappana, Idukki, which is located in the Western Ghats of Kerala, and to be more precise in the spice garden of Kerala, is the beautiful ‘Triple Waterfalls’. If you want to experience the beauty of a waterfall by all the means this is the best one where you should be.

Triple Waterfalls has three distinct, different types of waterfalls. In the second stage of the waterfalls, there is a cave from where the water falls from the top of this cave going into splashes. It has a beautiful and spacious view from the top. This location is best for shooting and entertainment.

This place came to be known from 2017 onwards and remains hidden to non-residents. It has been known for years to residents. The Triple Waterfalls and all the enclosures surrounding it is a privately owned property. The best part of this waterfall is the lush greenery all around. 

Situated 3 km from Kattappana, many people head to enjoy the Triple Waterfalls on a weekend for a refreshing change. And during monsoon, the flow is stronger and higher. The waterfall is located in between spice estates and hence scenic views. You can also find sitting arrangements made of wood that is exactly match the scenery.

The name originated based on the form of the waterfalls. The earlier owned one sold this to the new owner who cleared the area and transformed it into a tourist place. Adding onto it comes natural and beautiful seating arrangements and hut which are eco-friendly and made from leaves and woods from the trees from the estate. And that is what you see in the surroundings today. 

With such good developments, the waterfalls saw a rise in the number of tourists visiting them. The beauty and charm of the waterfalls give a great feeling to the visitors' mind. 

How to reach 

You can reach Triple Waterfalls from Kattappana easily. There are well-maintained roads that will take you till the spice plantations and from there it takes a two minutes’ walk through the beautiful spice three gardens to reach the waterfalls.

The walk through the gardens and spice plantations will give you a lifetime experience. You can hear the sound of the falls while walking towards the falls through the garden and it makes the walk even more exciting.
