Kochi: The tourism department of Kerala invites tourists to an amazing trip to the woods which are home to one of the most beautiful forest paths in South India.

The proposed trip, ‘Malakkapara Jungle Safari’, which will conclude at the beautiful village of Malakkapara near the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, would be a perfect opportunity for nature lovers to enjoy the mesmerizing charm of forests. Destinations like Thumboormuzhi dam, Athirapilly waterfalls, and Vazhachal will be covered in the safari.

A trip to the woods during monsoon would be the most enthralling experience as rain enhances the beauty of the lush green forests. In the 90 km trip, tourists would be travelling through dense forests for at least 50 km.

Athirapilly and Vazhachal waterfalls, Peringalkuthu dam, and places like Sholayar and Anakayam offer unending sceneries. Besides the charming beauty of the Western Ghats, one can also enjoy the rare flora and fauna.

The tour which begins at 8 am from the Chalakudy PWD rest house will end at 8 pm in the same place. The package includes air-conditioned vehicle, snacks, lunch, and the service of an experienced guide.

The trip is organized jointly by the tourism department and Athirapilly -Vazhachal -Thumboormuzhi destination management council. Rs 1000 per person would be charged as fee for the ‘Malakkapara Jungle Safari’. Interested parties should book seats in advance. Phone: 0480 2769888.
