Tourists set to gain as portal to list service providers

Responsible tourism portal invites service providers to woo tourists to Kerala
As soon as the entrepreneurs and service providers become part of the portal, the tourists would be able to select and book their preferred services beforehand.

Malappuram: The district tourism department is all set to flag off a project which coordinates the various service providers from around the district. The service providers would be made to register at the responsible tourism portal and then train them to be part of a larger initiative.

There are hundreds of tourists who reach Kerala just to experience life in the state in its most authentic way. Some of them want to make local dishes like porotta and pathiri, while others want to enjoy the traditional art forms like oppana and kolkali. There are even visitors who wish to fish in the lakes using traditional fishing rods or take a ride around the city in an auto rickshaw. As soon as the entrepreneurs and service providers become part of the portal, the tourists would be able to select and book their preferred services beforehand.

Earlier, home stays and farms were included in the responsible tourism portal. Besides this, handicrafts makers, artisans, auto-taxi drivers, authorized boat operators, authorized eateries, artists and art groups too would now be able to register at the portal. Those who are willing to become a part of this project can register either at the responsible tourism state mission office or at the district tourism office before 3 October 2018.
