New Delhi: UK-based Virgin Atlantic plans to recommence flight services to India from September under the 'Air Bubble' scheme, the airline said on Thursday. The scheme is essentially a bilateral air travel arrangement agreed between the UK and India.
Accordingly, the airline plans to recommence services between Delhi to London-Heathrow from September 2 and Mumbai from September 17.
"All customers eligible under the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs as per the 'Air Bubble' scheme will be able to travel on board Virgin Atlantic's direct services to London-Heathrow and the US," the airline said in a statement.
"The airline plans to operate three flights a week from Delhi to London-Heathrow from September 2. Mumbai service restarts from September 17 and will operate four flights a week to London."
As per the statement, flights to these destinations will be operated on 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.
