Dubai government tightens visiting visa norms

Indians and Thais confident to travel in the post-COVID world

With the increase in violation of visiting visas by people, the Dubai Government has tightened the conditions for the same.

Many people from different countries including India are arriving in Dubai without sufficient documents in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

With The Dubai authorities making it clear that the airline companies would be responsible for the people coming without return tickets, many passengers have been detained in the airports in India itself.

About 200 passengers from Kerala were detained at the Dubai International Airport by authorities recently. Of these only 40 were allowed to go out of the airport while the rest were sent back to Kerala, said Indian Consul General Neeraj Aggarwal.

The conditions have been tightened to avoid general amnesty for people coming on visiting visas who could not get jobs.
