Calvary Mount, also known as Kalvari Mount, received many travellers as it reopened recently after an eight-month hiatus following the spread of coronavirus. This eco-tourism destination, which is 2,700ft above sea level, is one of the favourite tourist spots in Idukki district.

The tourism industry, which was badly hit by the pandemic, is on a bumpy road to recovery, and many tourist destinations in Kerala are awaiting the arrival of tourists. Calvary Mount became a sought-after tourist locale after the Idukki arch dam shot to prominence.

Moreover, the pleasant climate and natural charm attract scores of tourists to this splendid place. The panoramic view of the massive Idukki dam from 600ft is nothing but breathtaking.

The tourist footfall has spiked as Calvary Mount recently reopened.  All visitors have to follow the COVID-19 protocol whereby everyone has to undergo thermal scanning and the vehicles will be sanitised.
