The Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC)'s restaurant on a KSRTC bus will soon be open to the public on October 9.

For the first time in the state, a KTDC restaurant will be set up near the Vaikom boat jetty. The KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) mechanical section of the old KSRTC bus Vaikom unit has been beautifully remodelled and has built a 50 cents two-storey restaurant adjacent to Kayalora Beach.

The construction is like a deck on top of a bus. The ground floor is completely air-conditioned and the open-air restaurant upstairs offers dining facilities.

Fifty people can dine on two floors at the same time. The area around the bus is tiled and decorated with colourful umbrellas. KTDC also serves food suited for foreign tourists. They are also providing modern washrooms. If successful, the project will be extended to other KTDC centres. KTDC's existing boat model restaurant on the beach has also been renovated.
Vaikom is the first venture with KTDC under the KSRTC Food on Wheels project. It is a world-class facility for those who love beaches.
