Kottayam track doubling: New train restrictions till May 28

Kottayam: The Railway has announced the second phase of restrictions on train services along the Kottayam route in view of the commissioning of the Ettumanoor-Chingavanam double track. These curbs will be in force from May 12 to 28. The commissioning of the new track is scheduled to take place on May 28, said a Railway press release.

The restrictions include total cancellation of 21 trains, including popular services such as Island Express, Parasuram Express, Jan Shatabdi Express and Venad Express, on various days from May 20.

The Railway also informed that the Palaruvi Express would depart from Palakkad at 5.20 pm on May 23, 24, 25 and 27 and at 5.35 pm on May 26.
