These long-distance trains to have unreserved coaches from June 30

Pathanamthitta: Unreserved general coaches will be restored in more long-distance trains, operating services via Kerala. Unreserved coaches would be restored on these trains over different dates:

June 30: Thiruvananthapuram-New Delhi Kerala Express, Kanyakumari-Dibrugarh Vivek Express, Thiruvananthapuram-Shalimar Express, Alleppey-Dhanbad Express, and Kochuveli-Korba

July 1: Kollam-Visakhapatnam Express, Ernakulam- Barauni Express, Kochuveli-Indore Express, Kanyakumari- Katra Himsagar Express

July 3: Nagercoil-Shalimar Express, Ernakulam-Tatanagar Express, Kochuveli-Gorakhpur

July 4: Ernakulam-Patna Express, Ernakulam-Howrah Express

July 5: Thiruvananthapuram-Silchar Express

July 6: Ernakulam-Bilaspur Express

Earlier, the reservation facility was mandated even for general coaches in the wake of the Covid pandemic. This was later withdrawn from services operated within Kerala, and on trains to neighbouring states.
