Oman Air introduces more services in Kerala, Air India's Kannur-Muscat flight from June 21

Muscat: Oman Air, the national carrier of Oman has increased the number of services to eight Indian cities, including Kerala, in its summer schedule. More services have been announced as the number of travellers have significantly gone up.

Kozhikode and Kochi sectors are included in the latest schedule. Oman Air informed that seven services would be scheduled to Kozhikode, Kochi, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Hyderabad sectors and three to Goa. B7B7 Dream Liner, Air Bus A330 and Boeing 737 would be used in these routes.

Meanwhile, Air India will begin a new route between Kannur and Muscat, to the joy of many expatriates. The authorities said that there would be three services in a week, starting from 21 June. The services will be available on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

The airplane that departs from Kannur at 10.20 pm would land in Muscat at 12.20 am, local time. Meanwhile, the service that starts from Muscat at 4.30 pm would reach Kannur at 9.30 pm. Currently, Air India Express and Go First run services between Kannur and Muscat. The expatriates are hopeful that the ticket prices would drop significantly with the entry of Air India too in this route. This service is likely to be a boon for the regular fliers from the Malabar region.
