Abu Dhabi: Air fares from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Kerala have dipped drastically and are now just around a third of the rates which existed from December 2022 till January 15 this year.

While the average fares were earlier Rs 35,000, one-way tickets are now available for as low as Rs 12,500 from Dubai, making it possible for a four-member family to travel to Kerala spending Rs 50,000. Passengers planning their trip after January 25 can book tickets even for Rs 8,000. This would enable a family of four to reach India from Dubai for just Rs 32,000.

The rates would be slightly higher if the trip is via Abu Dhabi and lower if it is via Sharjah.

Return trip costly

At the same time, tickets from Kerala to UAE are high, with the average fare ranging around Rs 27,000. For instance, a Kochi-Dubai ticket was listed as Rs 31,000 on Thursday and some airlines even charged a price of Rs 55,000, forcing a four-member family to spend Rs 1.25-2.25 lakh to travel to the Gulf.

However, if the journey is planned after January 25, one-way tickets are available for around Rs 15,000 from Kochi. Meanwhile, tickets from Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Kannur are priced slightly higher.
