Kottayam's ‘Ente Keralam’ exhibition from today: Check out traffic diversions

The Kottayam edition of ‘Ente Keralam’ exhibition and sale, conducted as part the state government’s second anniversary, would be held at Nagambadom ground here from May 16 to 22. A mega food festival, tourism and KIFB projects, sale of agriculture products, entertainment programs and various free government services too have been arranged as part of the expo.

No entry fee
There wouldn’t be any entry fee for the public to see the exhibition that begins at 10 am and closes at 9.30 pm.

The exhibition would be inaugurated by minister VN Vasavan at 4 pm tomorrow. Prior to the inaugural session, there would be grand cultural procession at 2 pm from the Thirunakkara ground to Nagambadom. Well-known artists would perform every day at 6.30 pm. Around 202 stalls have been arranged in the air=conditioned venue of 42000 sqft. There would be 70 exhibition – service stalls and 132 stalls where various items would be sold.

Free online services
The various government departments have arranged stalls here to offer free online services for the public. Online services like Aadhaar enrolment of children, photo, correcting the biometric details, Aadhaar renewal, voter id services and ration card services could be done through the Akshaya stalls at the venue, without paying any charges. Meanwhile, women can test their haemoglobin, blood pressure and fat ration, totally free of cost, at the health department’s stall. Besides, the distribution of e-health cards too would be conducted. There are stalls where the purity and safety of water and food could be tested.

Traffic restrictions at Kottayam
Heavy vehicles that travel through MC Road via Chingavanam should turn left at Cement Kavala junction and take the Parochal junction to reach the Thiruvathukkal – Kurissupally – Arathutty junction. Meanwhile, the vehicles that need to go to Kumarakom side should turn left and those who need to go to medical college should turn left at Chalukunnu junction. Only the private busses to town can turn at Chalukunnu and reach Nagambadon via Baker junction.

The small vehicles going east from Chingavanam via MC Road should right at Manipuzha junction and reach Eerayilkadavu through By Pass Road. Meanwhile, the heavy vehicles should turn right at Manipuzha junction and reach Kanjikuzhi via Kaduvakulam – Kollad.

The heavy vehicles going to Changanassery through KK Road should turn to Kanjikuzhi, Devalokam and Kaduvakulam. Meanwhile, private busses should reach Nagambadom bust stand via Collectorate, Logos and Railway Station.

The busses running services from Nagambadom bus stand to Chingavanam can take the regular route.

The vehicles coming from Thiruvarppu should take the Thiruvathukkal – Puthanangadi route and the vehicles coming from Kumarakam should take Illikkal route to reach Arathutty and Baker junctions before turning right to Nagambadom stand.

The private busses from Nagambadom stand should turn right at the Sears junction without entering town to reach Ettumanoor – Medical College.

The busses from KSRTC stand that go to Ettumanoor, Kumarakam and Cherthala sides should turn right in front of Kalyan Silks and reach Pulimoodu junction before turning left to Karapuzha – Thiruvathukkal – Arathutty junction.

The KSRTC busses from Ettumanoor side should turn at Gandhi Nagar and reach the stand via Medical College – Kudayampadi – Chalukkunu – Arathutty – Thiruvathukkal – Karapuzha – Pulimoodu junction.

The small vehicles coming from Ettumanoor side should reach Kanjikuzhi via Vattamoodu and take the Puthupally route to Changanassery.

The private busses from Ettumanoor can take the regular route to end and end the service at Nagambadom stand.
