Chennai: Indian Railway is all set to launch trains similar to Vande Bharat, without AC coaches, this month. Once the trains are launched, everybody will be able to travel at cheaper rates, with good facilities, said B G Malya, General Manager of Integral Coach Factory(ICF) in Chennai. The trains should be launched by the end of October. The 22-coach train, as per reports, will have a locomotive each at the front and rear.

Design changes have been made for better acceleration and deceleration. The authorities said that the new train will be an upgraded three-tier sleeper version. The recently launched Vande Bharat trains received a great welcome from passengers. However, there were widespread complaints that common man couldn't afford them. This is the reason for rolling out the non-air-conditioned trains with similar facilities.
