Extra coach allotted in Parasuram Express following complaints

After the recent allotment of extra general compartment coaches for eight trains, the Railway has approved one in the Mangaluru Central - Nagercoil Jn - Mangaluru Central Parasuram Express (16649/16650) as well. The extra coach in the train to Nagercoil was implemented on Sunday and the one to Mangaluru, on Monday. Earlier, it was reported that there were technical difficulties in increasing the coaches of Parasuram Express, and efforts were on to replace the pantry car with a general coach.

While the Ernakulam Junction - Kannur Intercity got its extra coach from Sunday onwards, The Kannur - Alappuzha Executive, the Alappuzha Kannur Executive, the Thiruvananthapuram - Shornu Venad and the Shornur - Thiruvananthapuram Venad got its coaches from Monday. The Kannur - Ernakulam Junction Intercity will have the additional coach from Tuesday and the Ernakulam Jn - Thiruvananthapuram Central Vanchinad Express will have it from Wednesday.

The Mangaluru-Kozhikode Express Special (T No 16610) started operating with two additional coaches, and the Thiruvananthapuram Central – Ernakulam Junction Vanchinad Express (T No 16304) with an extra car from Saturday onwards. The measure came soon after Malayala Manorama highlighted the plight of passengers, with most trains running jam-packed and the railways downsizing the number of general coaches.
