Following Vande Bharat, India's semi-high-speed train 'Namo Bharat' has also made its debut. A 12 km trial run for the train was held from Duhai (Uttar Pradesh) to Modi Nagar recently. The train operated at a low speed but picked up a bit on the return journey to Duhai. The next phase of the Regional Rapid Train Service (RRTS) covers the 25-km stretch between Duhai and Meerut. Upon completion, the line will have the four stations of Murad Nagar, Modi Nagar North, Modi Nagar South, and Meerut South.

In October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Namo Bharat train service from Shaheedabad to Duhai in Uttar Pradesh. Modi announced in October that the 82-km-long Delhi-Meerut track would be completed in one and a half years. After completing the first phase of Namo Bharat, which is a regional rapid train service, it will connect important parts of the States of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan. Another unique feature of Namo Bharat is that only women are employed on it. The Prime Minister mentioned in October that this is a sign of women's empowerment in India.

Namo Bharat trains offer high-quality seats, wi-fi facilities, and a charging point for every seat. The project is being implemented with an outlay of Rs 30,000 crore. Once construction is complete, it will be possible to reach Meerut from Delhi in just one hour. With this, the country can make a significant leap in the tourism sector as well.
