Additional train services and stoppages to clear festival rush announced

Palakkad: The Southern Railways has announced a few additional train services and coaches to clear the rush during the festival season.  The Coimbatore Junction – Mangaluru Central Intercity Superfast Express (train no: 22610) operating on December 23 and 24 will be provided with one additional chair car coach. The Mangaluru Central - Coimbatore Junction Intercity Superfast Express journey commencing on December 24 and 25 from Mangaluru Central will be provided with one additional chair car coach.

Experimental stoppages
The experimental stoppage for the Hazrat Nizamuddin Junction – Ernakulam Junction Mangala Superfast Express (train no: 12618) at Koyilandy will continue until further advice. The train will reach Quilandi at 1.39 am. The Thiruvananthapuram Central – Mangaluru Central Express (train no: 16604) will be provided with experimental stoppages at Kuttipuram and Quilandi until further advice. The train will arrive at Kuttipuram at 2.29 am and Koyilandy at 3.47 am.

The Pune Junction – Kanyakumari Express (train no: 16381) will be provided with experimental stoppage at Ottappalam until further advice. The train will arrive at Ottappalam at 1.44 am. The Nagercoil Junction – Mangaluru Central Parasuram Express (train no: 16650) will be provided with an experimental stoppage at Vallikunnu at 3.17 pm. The Kannur – Shoranur Junction MEMU Express (train no: 06024) will also have a stoppage at Vallikunnu at 8.24 pm. Likewise, Shoranur Junction – Kannur MEMU Express (train no: 06023) will stop at Vallikunnu at 6.13 am.

Services short-terminated due to heavy rains
Due to water logging in Madurai railway division after heavy rain, two train services have been short-terminated. The Tiruchendur – Palakkad Junction Unreserved Express (train no: 16732) to be commenced on Friday at 12.20 pm from Tiruchendur will be partially cancelled between Tiruchendur and Tirunelveli Junction. The train will originate from Tirunelveli Junction at its scheduled departure: 1.30 pm. The Palakkad Junction - Tiruchendur Unreserved Express (train no: 16731) that commenced on Friday at 6 am has been short-terminated at Tirunelveli Junction. The service of this train has been cancelled between Tirunelveli Junction and Tiruchendur.
