Thiruvananthapuram: DRM Dr Maneesh Dhaplyal stated that additional coaches have been allowed in nine trains to manage the crowds. The occupancy rate is over 150 per cent in both Vande Bharat trains starting from here. As the number of coaches has increased, more than 1000 tickets are also available in the Vande Bharat trains to Kasargod and Mangaluru. Nine trains, including Parasuram Express and Palaruvi Express, will get additional coaches. Vanchinad Express might also get a few additional coaches soon.

The number of coaches has been increased from 12 to 14 in Thiruvananthapuram—Kollam, Thiruvananthapuram—Nagercoil, Nilambur—Kottayam, Nagercoil—Kottayam, Alappuzha—Kollam, and Kottayam—Kollam trains. Five more stations will be renovated under the Amrit Bharat project. DRM said that increasing the length of the second platform at the Thiruvananthapuram railway station will make it easier to handle more trains.

Hyderabad – Kollam special service
Special train service has started on the Hyderabad – Kollam route. The special train (07193) starts from Hyderabad at 11.10 pm on Saturdays and arrives at Kollam by 7.10 am on Monday. Meanwhile, the return service (07194) departs at 10.45 am and reaches Hyderabad at 5.30 pm on Tuesday. This train that operates via Salem, Katpadi, Tirupati and Guntur has 18 sleeper coaches, two second AC, and two third AC coaches. Meanwhile, in Kerala, the train stops at Shasthamkotta, Karunagapally, Kayamkulam, Mavelikkara, Chengannur, Thiruvalla, Changanassery, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur and Palakkad.
